If we ignore the ceramic objects of the ancient Egyptians, the oldest ceramic vessels have been discovered in our country. These objects, each of which is a unique example of the taste and initiative of the ancient Iranians and shows how they lived, illuminates our ancient history. These objects are kept under the list of prehistoric pottery in the Museum of Ancient Iran and other major museums around the world. It is mostly engraved in terms of form and how the role plays in the perfection of strength and coherence and is a role model for many artists.

How to make ceramic dishes?

Ceramic objects are usually made in two steps. First, the main skeleton of the container is made, which is called the body, and then the body is given a role and transparency, which is called glaze.

The first stage; Body construction

First mix the clay with water, the result is a sticky plastic mixture. Shape the resulting flower into the desired shape and form, then dry it and when there is no moisture in it, put it in the oven and gradually raise the temperature of the oven to a temperature of 800 to 5 to 6 hours. Reach 1000 degrees Celsius. Then turn off the oven and wait for it to cool. The resulting object is very strong and durable against water.

The second stage; Apply a substance called glaze

Glaze is made by combining several types of soil and rock, such as kaolin, quartz, floss, and some chemicals, such as sodium carbonate, brax, boric acid, and sometimes some special materials. The glaze is first made with different combinations and in the desired color, and then it is placed on different objects in different ways. The glazed objects are placed in the oven for re-baking and can be used after baking.

Ceramic applications

These days, ceramic is widely used because of its stability and strength and resistance to changes in air temperature and its resistance to destructive factors such as bacteria and termites.
